Goodrich Independent School District (ISD) is a recipient of the High School That Work Program - Cycle 2 from the Texas Education Agency. The Program began on May 1, 2010 and will extend until April 30, 2012. The goals for Goodrich ISD students are to:
Expand students' opportunities to complete a rigorous academic core with either an academic, a career/technical, or a blended program of study;
establish a comprehensive guidance and counseling program that enhances student success in all postseconday environments.
create supportive relationships between students and adults;
create opportunities for teachers to serve as advisors with parents and students;
focus school leadership on supporting what and how teachers teach by providing common planning time and professional development aligned with school improvement plans;
have all students complete a challenging curriculum that focuses on preparing high school students for futher education and the workplace; and
enable students to earn, upon leaving high school, postsecondary credit or have all students meet standards for postsecondary studies to avoid remedial courses.
