Greetings Goodrich ISD Students, Staff, Parents/Guardians, & Community:

During the summer months, the district leadership team and I spent countless hours reviewing every aspect of our operations to outline a blueprint to safely reopen our schools amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The blueprint focuses on proper hygiene, enhanced sanitation practices, and complies with federal, state, and local health official guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within our school community. Although we know that the upcoming school year will present inevitable challenges, we look forward to providing high-quality learning experiences to our students, consisting of in-person instruction and an asynchronous virtual option.

Whether you select the in-person instruction or the virtual learning option, we hope that you are reenergized and ready to embark on an exhilarating school year! We excitedly anticipate having all students back on campus very soon, livening the hallways and filling our classrooms with their creative minds and unyielding enthusiasm. We also look forward to establishing, building upon, and sustaining productive partnerships with each of you to ensure that our students are provided with a rich academic program, in-person and virtually, that actively engages them in the learning process.

Our collaborative efforts will challenge their intellect and nurture their development to ensure that they acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in subsequent grade level courses, post-secondary settings, and beyond. The challenges our nation is facing makes it even more important that our school community remain united in embracing diversity and in providing all students the absolute best education, daily, in a safe, welcoming and nurturing learning environment. We must uphold the vision and mission of our district, focusing on the virtues, value, and the lifelong impact that acquiring a high-quality education can have on the future success of our students. Let us continue to be dedicated to creating an inclusive and respectful environment that embraces the individual differences that make us all unique.

In Goodrich ISD, we have enthusiastic & dedicated teachers who are committed to building upon the individual strengths and gifts of students. Captivating learning experiences, implementing research-based instructional practices that foster critical thinking, identifying and targeting areas of improvement, and using student performance data will ensure the continuation of their academic growth & progress. It is our mission to help every student feel welcome, safe, connected and a part of the Goodrich ISD community.

My goal is to make sure that I keep the lines of communication open with you by posting all pertinent information on the updated campus website, and utilizing (text @c3h64e to the number 81010) to send out pertinent school-related information via text message. We hope that you find our updated website useful and informative. Additionally, I have created a Facebook account (@GOODRCHISD) that I aim to use to send out quick announcements and updates in regards to district/campus events and information.

We have the best teachers in Polk County, outstanding students, and most importantly, loving parents! What a powerful combination!

Without further ado…it is with unwavering optimism and great pleasure that we welcome everyone back for the 2020-2021 school year!

Let’s have a remarkable school year!

I’m honored to serve as your superintendent of schools and feel very fortunate to work in Goodrich ISD.
