Superintendent Statement
I am really excited to introduce the Goodrich ISD Leadership Academy. This is about more than starting a new program but about being intentional in how we help our students grow into the kind of people and leaders we know they can become.
Two important parts of the Leadership Academy are the Goodrich 17 and our House System. The Goodrich 17 gives us a common language for teaching the life skills that matter every day—respect, responsibility, kindness, courage, perseverance, gratitude, organization, and personal growth. These are life skills our students will carry with them into the workplace, their families, and their communities.
Our three houses—Respectus, Benevolence, and Officium—give students and staff another way to connect and feel like they are part of something bigger. The house system creates smaller communities within our Goodrich family where students can build relationships, encourage one another, step into leadership opportunities, celebrate successes, and have a little friendly competition along the way. Most importantly, it gives every student a place to belong.
What excites me most is how all of this works together. We are not just talking about character and leadership; we are giving students opportunities to live those things out every day. We want every student to know that they matter, they belong, and they have something valuable to contribute.
